Plastic & Shotcreting Refractories

Plastic & Shotcreting Refractories

Product Description

This series of plastic refractories is designed for direct patching and ramming without additives, including water, under normal conditions. No curing is required after installation, allowing immediate baking with a shorter heating cycle than castable of the same thickness. Fast-baking grades further reduce drying time.
These products are widely used for repair and construction in molten-metal contact areas such as furnace nozzles, linings, ladles, tundishes, and runners, as well as for sealing nickel-iron tapping holes in electric arc furnaces. Phosphate-free options are available for ultra-low phosphorus applications.

Plastic Refractory: High-Performance Solutions for Complex Structures

  1. Key Industrial Applications

Our plastic refractories are widely utilized across the steel and thermal processing industries, providing reliable linings for:
Reheating Furnaces: Ensuring thermal efficiency and structural integrity in steel mills.
Homogenizing & Annealing Furnaces: Maintaining precise temperature control for metal processing.
Sintering Furnaces: Withstanding the harsh mechanical and thermal stresses of sintering operations.
Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) Roofs: Offering superior resistance to high-temperature radiant heat.

  1. Specialized for Complex Geometries

One of the greatest advantages of plastic refractory is its ability to be installed where traditional bricks or castables fall short. It is the perfect solution for:
Irregular Shapes: Areas where mold-casting is difficult or impossible.
Critical Zones: Furnace mouths, sharp corners, burner ports, and intricate transition areas.
Seamless Integration: Fills gaps and bonds effectively with existing linings to prevent thermal leaks.

  1. Superior Maintenance & Repair

Our plastic refractory is an excellent choice for furnace maintenance, allowing for:
Rapid Repairs: Can be manually molded or rammed into place to repair damaged sections quickly.
Extended Service Life: Forms a high-strength bond that resists spalling and mechanical wear, significantly reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
Product Performance Features
Exceptional Thermal Shock Resistance: Capable of enduring rapid temperature fluctuations without cracking or structural failure.
High Abrasion Resistance: Specially formulated to withstand the erosive forces of high-velocity gases and materials.
Superior Bonding Strength: Develops a robust monolithic structure after installation, ensuring long-term stability.
Versatile Installation: Supports both high-pressure ramming for maximum density and hand-molding for detailed repair work.

Why Choose Our Plastic Refractory?

Custom Formulations: We adjust the chemical composition (Alumina content, binder type, etc.) to match your specific furnace temperature and atmosphere.

Operational Flexibility: Ready-to-use consistency eliminates the need for on-site mixing, ensuring quality control and saving labor time.
