Product Description

Brown Fused Alumina is a versatile abrasive material used in applications such as sandblasting and cutting. Its high hardness and durability make it ideal for removing surface coatings, preparing surfaces for painting or treatments, and roughening or cleaning surfaces to improve adhesion and enable further processing in various industries. It is also utilized in refractory materials for lining furnaces and high-temperature equipment, owing to its elevated melting point and resistance to thermal shock.

Brown Fused Alumina (BFA) – Refractory Applications

  1. Advanced Refractory Solutions

Shaped Refractories: Primary component for high-durability bricks, including High-Alumina Bricks, Mullite Bricks, and specialized combined brick series.
Unshaped Refractories: Widely used in the formulation of high-performance castables, ramming masses, and plastic refractories.

  1. Steel & Iron Industry (Ladle & Furnace)

Ladle Refractories: Engineered for ladle linings and pouring materials, ensuring excellent erosion resistance against molten steel and slag.
Blast Furnace Components: Vital for the construction and maintenance of blast furnaces and hot blast stoves, providing superior structural integrity under continuous heat.
Furnace Charge & Linings: High-purity BFA ensures long-lasting performance for various industrial furnace linings and charging materials.

  1. Foundry & Casting Applications

Casting Materials: Used in precision casting and foundry sand to achieve high-quality surface finishes and dimensional accuracy.
Investment Casting: Provides the necessary thermal stability for molds and shells used in heavy-duty casting processes.

Why Choose Our Refractory Grade BFA?

Superior Thermal Stability: Maintains structural strength at temperatures exceeding 1800°C.

High Density & Low Porosity: Our 3-5mm and 1-3mm grains are optimized for maximum packing density in castables.

Corrosion Resistance: Highly resistant to chemical erosion from slag and harsh industrial gases.

Consistent Grading: Strict screening ensures a precise particle size distribution for optimal bonding in refractory mixes.
